Step Four:

Conduct and Document Your Training

Step Four: Train your employees and document the training as it proceeds. This is the most important step in the process - where your company uses Guaranteed Free Training to advance the skills of your employees. To maximize the benefits of training, keep up to date with the following procedures:

  1. Review your course selection with your WEDnetPA partner prior to beginning training. This step will ensure that all training is eligible and can be completed within the budget established. You don't want to conduct training and find out later that it doesn't qualify under the Guaranteed Free Training Program.
  2. Keep written or computerized records on all training activities so you will have proper documentation to verify training conducted. This practice is especially true for in-house and third-party provided training programs. WEDnetPA has assessment forms that you can download to assist you in this process.
  3. Submit documentation and invoices regularly! Don't wait until the end of the training period to process documentation and training invoices. This delay will hold up payments and create administrative problems. We recommend submitting documentation and invoices at least monthly or quarterly.
  4. Communicate with your WEDnetPA partner regularly about your progress with your training program. Your partner can help you find training resources and keep your plan on track for success.

WEDnetPA wants your job training experience to be productive. We will provide the support you need to get the most from your training efforts. For additional help, check out our planning tools under Workplace Learning Resource Center.
