Pennsylvania College of Technology

Organizational Summary:

 Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn College) offers a comprehensive array of associate and baccalaureate degree majors with a strong emphasis on technology.  Penn College is a state-focused institution with extensive commitment to hands-on career programming and has an enrollment that exceeds 6,000 students.

 The main campus of Penn College is in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.  Additional campuses include:  Earth Science Center in Montgomery, Pennsylvania; Aviation Center in Montoursville, Pennsylvania; and North Campus in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, with remote facilities in Harrisburg.

 The Workforce Development & Continuing Education office (WDCE) was created specifically to provide training and project services to meet business/industry and community needs.  The WDCE has significant grant writing and grant/project management experience and is currently managing in excess of three hundred (300) grants and projects totaling over $21 million.  Since its inception in 1989, WDCE has designed and delivered courses and customized training seminars/workshops to over 75,000 students.  The WDCE employs 36 professional and administrative staff.

 Specialty Topic/Areas of Expertise:

 WDCE offers a range of professional, technical, vocational and basic literacy open enrollment and customized training courses.  Areas of expertise include the following:  Automotive, Aviation, Business & Management, Computer Technologies (all levels), Forest & Horticulture, Health Sciences, Industrial Technology & Trade Skills, Personal Enrichment, and Plastics Technology.

 Specific technical program areas include:

  • Authorized Textron Lycoming Engine Service School
  • AutoDesk Premier Training Center
  • Factory Built Housing Center
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Provider
  • Manufactured Housing Resource Center (MHRC)
  • Modular  Housing Training Institute (MHTI)
  • National certification and testing center for the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA)
  • PennSTAR (Pennsylvania Spray Technique Analysis & Research)
  • Plastics Manufacturing Center of Excellence
  • Teacher Development Center
  • Weatherization Training Center (WTC)
